“We have many excellent, long term relationships with our agents and are grateful for the outstanding support we have received over the years”, said Mauland. “Our rural location provides us with a very experienced, dedicated and caring staff which, combined with user-friendly technology, have been keys to our success.”
North Star is proud of its financial stability and strong commitment to serving agents and policyholders. The company is rated A+ Superior by A.M. Best and in 2019, was again selected as a Wards Top 50 Property-Casualty Insurance Company for the 15th consecutive year.

The company, with approximately 270 employees and 1,500 independent agencies, writes over $450 million in premium annually across eight states. “We are a lot bigger of a company than we used to be, but our commitment to our policyholders, rural values and friendly service, remains to this day and those values will carry us into the next 100 years.”
North Star will be celebrating it’s 100th anniversary with a series of open houses, community outreach projects and other special programs throughout 2020 and 2021.
