The essential functions of this position include adjusting claims, marketing our products to independent agents, and completing underwriting inspections. Work is primarily in an assigned territory, but may include work outside the territory to assist with a localized catastrophe situation. In order to efficiently and effectively perform the position, it is important to have the staff member located in the territory assigned. Optimal location for this position is in or around the counties of Brown, Watonwan, Martin, and Faribault.
Additional functions of this position include documenting and managing first and third party claim files in compliance with state law and company policy, conducting recorded statements, negotiating settlements, estimating damage and preparing detailed reports.
The successful candidate must be capable of following direction and assisting other staff while also being a self-starter and able to think and work on their own. Other qualifications include excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional appearance while building rapport with policy holders and Agent partners. The duties include physically demanding activities (including climbing) and travel outside of the assigned territory.
Preference for this position will be given to those with basic construction, farm, math and technology skills.
