Special Investigator

The successful candidate will work closely with management on the handling of complex claims. Duties will include investigation of difficult and/or disputed property and liability claims and the review and handling of claim appraisals as requested. The handling of examinations under oath may also be a part of the position responsibilities. In addition, when practical, the individual will follow litigated files to conclusion.

Applicants must be capable of following direction and assisting other staff members, yet be a self-starter and able to think and work on their own. This person must possess excellent investigation, communication, organization, documentation and mathematical skills and have the ability to interpret policy language and apply this information to the claims handling process. In addition, this person must have strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, civil litigation and legal procedures. As a representative of the company, this position requires a person to appear and conduct them self professionally while maintaining rapport with our policyholders and Agent partners. The position duties also include physically demanding activities (including climbing), and extensive travel.

Preference for this position will be given to those with a good understanding of all phases of the multi-line claims handling process.
