This in-office position involves handling new or reopened claims, working towards prompt, fair and correct settlement of claim files. Data entry, use of computers and file management are a large part of this fast-paced work environment. Applicants must be able to document and manage first and third-party claim files in compliance with state law and company policy; assess coverage; set reserves; assign and assist field adjusters; analyze liability and contract issues; evaluate bodily injury and/or property damage; and negotiate claim files to conclusion. This dynamic position involves exposures to many industries such as legal, medical and construction.
All applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent insurance-related experience. Written and oral communication skills are essential with the position, along with basic mathematical skills, proficiency with a personal computer, good organizational skills, and self-motivation.
